Lampard ruled out of Euro 2012

England midfielder Frank Lampard has been ruled out of Euro 2012. The Chelsea captain, who led the Blues to Champions League glory for the first time on May 19, suffered a thigh injury in training on Wednesday.

Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson will replace him, subject to UEFA’s medical staff agreeing with the FA’s assessment that Lampard is unfit to feature.

Steven Gerrard’s team-mates begin their Euro 2012 campaign against France on the 11th of June before facing Sweden and Ukraine in group D.
