Video has emerged of French journalist Romeo Langlois, who is being held by FARC rebels in Colombia.
The drug-funded group has announced that it will free the reporter on Wednesday.
Langlois was captured last month during clashes between FARC fighters and troops, who were carrying out an anti-drug raid in the south of the country.
The Colombian government says it will do all it can to help with this week’s release operation.
“We are coordinating with the French government and the Red Cross in an effective way, to contribute to the release of French journalist Romeo Langlois,” said Juan Carlos Pinzon, Defence Minister.
A humanitarian rescue team will go in and collect Langlois, who has been described by the rebels as a “prisoner of war” because he was wearing army-issued clothing.
