Trade unionists protest in Casablanca

Thousands of trade unionists have taken to the streets of Casablanca, calling for better working conditions and higher wages.

Demonstrators accused Morocco’s Islamist government of failing to deliver on promises of social justice.

Organisers said that 50,000 people took part in the action, while police estimated a much lower turnout.
