Ali Larijani has been re-elected as speaker of Iran’s parliament.

The 55-year-old is a fierce critic of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Seen as a pragmatic conservative, he is close to the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and was the country’s top nuclear negotiator until 2007.
