The International Red Cross (ICRC) has confirmed they will be involved in the operation to free captured French journalist Romeo Langlois from Colombian FARC rebels.
A humanitarian mission team will retrieve Langlois on Wednesday.
Describing the deal reached with FARC, ICRC delegate Jordi Raich said: “By the 30th (of May) at 7.00 am, we should be given the precise location of where to go in order to get Romeo Langlois. Those are the terms of the agreement.”
Langlois has been held by Colombia’s main rebel group for a month.
He was seized during clashes between fighters from the group and troops, who were carrying out an anti-drug raid in the south of the country. Langlois had been following the security forces as they tracked the FARC members.
