Mass shooting in Finland

A gunman in Finland opened fire from a rooftop in the early hours of this morning, killing two people and wounding seven others.

The shooting spree took place in the small town of Hyvinkaan 56 km north of the capital Helsinki.
Both of the dead are 18-year-olds, a man and a woman. Among the wounded including one of the dead were members of the Finnish baseball team, Hyvinkaan Tahko, which won a game on Friday. A police woman was also shot.

An 18-year-old man wearing camouflage was detained several hours after the shooting. The motive for this attack is so far unclear, but it follows a series of shooting sprees in Finland, which has one of the highest gun ownership rates in the world. Police recovered two rifles after his arrest and believe that he acted alone.
