When Sean Penn presents you with a prize at the Cannes Film Festival, it is a good sign for any newcomer to the world of cinema.
US actress Shailene Woodley and compatriot Ezra Miller have been rewarded as rising stars, receiving the Chopard Prize in recognition of young talent.
Woodley played George Clooney’s daughter in “The Descendants”. Miller was in Cannes last year for “We need to talk about Kevin.”
As Chopard award winners, they are following in illustrious footsteps. Previous recipients include French Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard and German model-turned-actress Diane Kruger.
