Deficit-busting plan approved in Slovakia

Slovakia’s parliament has approved plans to curb the country’s financial deficit.

The four-year programme includes higher taxes on the rich. State debt stands at just over 43 percent of GDP in the country.

Slovakia’s prime minister said he will back calls for more emphasis on growth in the eurozone, alongside austerity measures.
