Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez flew home on Friday from cancer treatment in Cuba in a bid to quash rumours that he was dying.
He has had three operations over the past year to remove two cancerous tumors in his pelvic region.
Further details about his condition remain a state secret.
On arriving in Caracas, Chavez said that he had successfully completed the latest round of radiation therapy.
He also claimed that opposition groups are planning to stir up violent political upheaval ahead of a presidential election on October 7th.
The 57-year-old leader looked energetic and seemed to be in good spirits.
He even broke out into song before finishing his nationally televised address.
