Euro 2012: The trophy arrives in Kiev

With less than a month to go until the main event, the Euro 2012 trophy took centre stage in Kiev during a three-day stay.

Fresh from a rousing reception in Poland, the Henri Delaunay Cup arrived in the independent square on Friday where it was greeted by thousands of football fans and former Ballon d’Or Andriy Shevchenko.

Ukraine, who will be making their Euro debut, will face two times winners France, Sweden and England.

Warsaw has the honour of kickstarting the Euro 2012 party on June 8 while Kiev will wrap things up with the final on July the first.
