Germany coach Joachim Low has nominated a 27-man provisional squad to compete for his final selection for Euro 2012.

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has been picked despite not having played since February and the 27 year old will be joined by future team-mate Lukas Podolski.

Schalke’s Julian Draxler was the only uncapped outfield member of the 27-man squad, which will be reduced to 23 by the end of this month.

Germany’s Euro 2012 campaign kicks off on the 9th of June.
