Hundreds of thousands of people across Europe marked the May Day holiday by holding rallies and demonstrations. One of the most vocal was in Greece where people hit the streets ahead of the country’s election to vent off their anger triggered by the harsh austerity that has been imposed there.

In Brussels, EU finance ministers also met with the aim of creating stricter capitalisation rules for banks, while elsewhere, Spain and Bolivia clashed over energy nationalisation. All that and more in this edition of Europe Weekly. To see the full programme, click on the link above.
