Shuttle makes final flight to New York

The Enterprise took to the skies for the last time over America today as the retired space shuttle was carried from Dulles airport in Virginia to New York, where it is to become a museum exhibit onboard the USS Intrepid.

The prototype never flew in space. The 36 year-old Enterprise was used for atmospheric flight tests only.
