Putin says Medvedev should run United Russia

Russian President-elect Vladimir Putin has stepped down from the leadership of his United Russia party. He says it is because Russian political practice dictates that the president “stand above all parties”. He will nominate his prime minister-designate Dmitry Medvedev to take over the fraud-tainted party, whose popularity Putin eclipses.
