A research project by Japanese scientists could bring new hope in the battle against baldness.

A team at the University of Sciences in Tokyo has managed to grow hair on naturally bald mice by extracting two types of follicular stem cells from normal adult mice.

The cells were cultivated in a laboratory and then the tissue was implanted under the skin of the hairless mice.

And, in just three weeks, real fur began to grow.
