A royal barge, built to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth, has been unveiled in London.
‘Gloriana’, decorated with gold leaf, will lead a flotilla of 1,000 vessels, as part of a programme of celebrations in June.
A small crowd braved wet weather conditions to see the barge launched onto the River Thames.
‘Gloriana’ will carry senior royals during this summer’s celebrations. It will be given to the Queen as a gift once the Jubilee festivities are over.
