At least five people in Turkey have been killed since extreme weather began battering the country on Wednesday.

A storm has brought strong winds, causing problems for people unaccustomed to these kinds of conditions.

A number of ferry services have been suspended and 10 people were rescued from a yacht after fire broke out and quickly spread due to winds of up to 100km per hour.

One man died after losing control of his motorcycle.

The two bridges connecting the European and Asian sides of Istanbul were temporarily closed.

More than 100 trees have been torn from the ground.

The storm is expected to last until Saturday.
