Berlusconi and his stripper nuns

With Italians more concerned about the economy, former premier Silvio Berlusconi has been off the front pages for some months. But once again the colourful media magnate is back in the spotlight.

Model Imane Fadil told a court she had been paid 2,000 euros to attend a so called “bunga bunga” party hosted by Berlusconi.

She also said she saw strippers dressed as nuns performing for the ex-prime minister. One of them is now a regional councillor for Berlusconi’s People of Freedom Party.

Berlusconi is accused of paying for sex with a nightclub dancer known as “Ruby” who was underage at the time. Both Ruby and Berlusconi deny the allegations. He is also accused of abusing his powers by getting police to release the dancer when she was arrested for stealing.

Berlusconi is currently a defendant in three trials. The other two relate to tax fraud and violating official secrets. Earlier this year a fourth case relating to bribery was thrown out by an Italian court.
