Syrian ceasefire strained by scattered violence

Syria’s fragile ceasefire is being tested with reports of scattered violence on both sides.

State TV showed pictures allegedly of a bus after an attack by rebels. Damascus said the vehicle was carrying soldiers, and was targeted by a roadside bomb near Aleppo.

One soldier was killed it said and the many wounded included civilians. The aim, it claimed, was to undermine efforts to find a poitical solution to the crisis which has been going on for more than a year.

Opposition groups say while the heavy bombardment may have ceased the army is still in place in several areas.

And it posted images purporting to show some shelling in Homs after the ceasefire had come into force.
