Clear-up time at Jerusalem's Western Wall

Jerusalem’s Western or ‘Wailing’ Wall has been cleared of the many prayer notes and messages left by worshippers in the cracks between the stones.

It is a routine operation that happens twice a year, before Passover and the Jewish New Year.

The notes, from people of all religions the world over, are buried as under Jewish religious practice they must not be destroyed.
