Shell caught in money trap with Iran


As the US and EU’s economic sanctions tighten on Iran what of oil companies who owe the Iranians money? Royal Dutch Shell says it is struggling to find ways of paying over 750 million euros, or a billion dollars, for crude oil. Shell is ranked Iran’s second biggest corporate client with daily volumes of 100,000 barrels, and on March 7th said it would take no more deliveries “within a matter of weeks.”
