Removing barriers and challenging attitudes to disability in the city of Maribor – European Capital of Culture.

Those are some of the ideas behind the cultural ecological society, Smetumet. It was founded in Ljubliana, Slovenia’s capital by three women, Maja Rijavec, Maja Modrijan, and Urša Štrukelj.

Maja Rejavic, from Smetumet, told euronews: “I see our project as a seed, a seed that is being planted. After many years it is going to turn out that the city of Maribor will take care of its citizens very well without our project so we can start working on something else.”
