An autopsy performed on Whitney Houston has revealed she died of accidental drowning, and listed cocaine use and heart disease as contributing factors.
Marijuana, an anti-anxiety medicine, a muscle relaxant and an anti-histamine were also found in her system, though they are not linked to the singer’s death, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.
Forty-eight year old Houston was found dead in the bathtub in her hotel room on February 11 – the night before the Grammy Awards.
A career during which she sold 170 million albums, singles and videos was overshadowed in recent years by drug problems.
