An avalanche in Norway’s High Arctic region has killed five skiers. A sixth was pulled alive from the snow and is said to be in a stable condition.
The victims, who were Swiss and French nationals, had been part of a group of 12 skiing off-piste when the avalanche occurred some 1,000 metres above the nearby Lyngen Fjord.
Those who died were buried up to six metres deep.
