Jewish leaders in France are urging their community to take extra security precautions following the shooting in Toulouse.
France is home to around half a millions Jews, one of the largest populations of that faith in the world.
A senior Jewish figure in Paris, Gill Taieb, told euronews: “Our first reaction is one of shock. The entire Jewish community is deeply shocked by this attack.
“Unfortunately, our history has shown that anti-Semitic attacks have existed and continue to exist. That’s why we are asking the community to keep calm but to take precautions in the coming days in order to be better prepared for any possible further attacks, given the fact that the murderer is still at large.”
