The former Nazi concentration camp guard, John Demjanjuk, has died at a retirement home in Germany aged 91.
He was convicted by a court in Munich last year of being the guard known as Ivan the Terrible, but was released from prison after having spent nearly two years in detention during the court case.
Demjanjuk had been extradited from the United States in 2009 to face trial.
The court ruled that he was a notorious guard at the Sobibor camp in Poland in 1943, when nearly 28,000 Jews were killed.
