Belgium mourns children

The death of many children and their minders when their coach was returning from a ski holiday in Switzerland has affected Belgians on a national scale. France 2 reported.

As sad as can be they walked into the tunnel, parents who needed to understand, to see, to mourn. Swiss RTS spoke to the first woman who alerted the authorities.

Fifty-eight pupils from two schools in Flanders left as they often have – 12-year-olds off to the snow in Switzerland. Their blog showed they had a good time, Italian RAI uno reported.

The Swiss village of Valais is where Belgian children come to learn to ski. Their trip is organised with the community by a Christian cooperative called Intersoc, for low income families, Swiss RSI reported.
