The Turkish prime minister has reacted to the bomb attack on police officers in Istanbul.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan said: “I strongly condemn the brutal attack which targeted police officers at Sütlüce in Istanbul. Those who committed this attack will never achieve their goal. They won’t be able to harm the unity of the people of this country. Our struggle against terrorism will continue with the utmost determination.”
Erdogan spoke at a news conference in the Turkish capital Ankara, shortly after a remote control bomb injured 15 police officers and one civilian as a police minibus passed close to the Istanbul headquarters of Turkey’s ruling AK Party.
