A 17-year-old boy at the centre of a shooting rampage in Ohio has appeared in a juvenile court at a preliminary hearing.
Prosecutors identified the suspect as TJ Lane and claimed he had confessed to opening fire on fellow students he picked at random.
A third boy has now died in the aftermath of the incident at a high school in the US town of Chardon.
One student remains in hospital with wounds from the attack while another has been discharged.
Lane is said to have entered the school cafeteria on Monday and fired ten rounds into a group of students sitting at a table before later turning himself in.
Police have refused to comment on a motive.
