Fighting continued is several Syrian cities yesterday, while overnight rebels said they were facing at least 7,000 Assad troops in Homs.
One diplomat claimed the president’s Fourth Armoured Division was intending to “finish off” the rebels.
Earlier the Free Syrian Army said its men were still resisting in cities from Idlib in the north and Deraa in the south. In Homs Mulham al-Jundi who claimed to be a wounded member of the Syrian National Council filmed himself in a makeshift clinic.
“Today in the morning, we woke up at 6:30 in the morning on the heavy sound of bombs and attacking Baba Amro, (for) like two or three hours.”
In Idlib, footage reportedly showed mourners at the funeral of two members of the Free Syrian Army killed in the fighting. UN humanitarian chief Valerie Amos said she had been denied entry into Syria despite her repeated requests to meet Syrian officials at the highest level.
