A suicide bombing in southern Yemen has left at least 26 people dead and dozens more injured.
Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the blast, which happened just hours after the country’s newly-elected president was sworn in.
Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi had described a continuation of the war against al-Qaeda as a “national and religious duty.”
US President Barack Obama pledged support for Hadi, saying America would be a steadfast partner.
Hadi, a former general, was the sole election candidate to replace Ali Abdullah Saleh, who was pushed out by street protests after three decades in power.
