The verdict following the trial of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will be announced on June 2.
He is charged with ordering the killing of protesters in the uprising that swept him from power. Former Interior Minister, Habib al-Adli and six other senior police officers also face charges of killing of protesters during the 18-day uprising when over 800 died.
The prosecution is seeking the death sentence for Mubarak. Judge Ahmet Reffat said he will announce the verdict live to the media and added, “We have vowed to speak the truth.”
