Maghreb bloc meets for first time in 15 years

Foreign ministers from five countries that make up the Maghreb Union have gathered in Rabat for the first time in over 15 years. The organisation made up of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania was founded in 1989 but has never been fully operational.

It is understood the Arab Spring prompted the meeting, with regional cooperation against terrorism on the agenda.
