There are likely to more delays at Frankfurt Airport on Friday as a walkout over pay by air traffic employees enters its second day.
Unions representing 200 ground workers have called the strike from 8:00 to 22:00 Central European Time.
At least 50 percent of flights will operate, with short-haul services being hit the most by cancellations.
Long-haul flights will mostly operate as normal.
Affected passengers can get a refund, rebook, or in some cases obtain a voucher to travel by rail.
With 1,300 daily takeoffs and landings Frankfurt Airport is a key European hub behind London’s Heathrow and Paris’ Charles de Gaulle.
