Early results show Mitt Romney has won the Republican primary in Nevada.

Partial counting of the votes puts him far ahead of his rivals – including main opponent Newt Gingrich.

This is Romney’s second victory in a row after Florida last week and the third out of five caucuses.

“America needs a President who can fix the economy because he understands the economy and I do and I will!” Romney told a crowd of supporters.

This is his second time winning a Nevada primary after trying to run for president in 2008.

Romney is a former governor of Massachusetts and the Republican candidate front-runner.

He will be hoping to build on the momentum and go on to success in Minnesota, Colorado and Missouri on Tuesday.
