UN finds record civilian deaths in Afghanistan in 2011

A UN report says a record number of civilians were killed in Afghanistan in 2011.

The UN said 3021 civilians died last year — up eight percent from the previous year.

Insurgents were responsible for 77 percent of those deaths, the report said.
