Former Italian president Scalfaro dead at 93

Oscar Luigi Scalfaro, the former Italian president, has died at the age of 93.

The cause of his death is as yet unknown.

Scalfaro held Italy’s highest office for five years from 1992.

He was one of the founding fathers of the Italian republic and helped draft its post-war constitution.
