Two films dominate this year’s Oscar nominees — Martin Scorsese’s tribute to the early days of filmmaking ‘Hugo’ leads the pack with 11 nominations, including best director.

The silent-era movie and Golden Globe winner ‘The Artist’ came in a close second with 10 nominations and French actor Jean Dujardin in the running for best actor.

Iran’s ‘A Separation’ — also a Golden Globe winner — is the hot tip for the best foreign language film.

While Meryl Streep’s portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in ‘The Iron Lady’ is in for the best actress award.

The winners are to be announced at the Oscar ceremony on February 26.
