UN encourages cooperation in Cyprus

Both the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot leaders, Demetris Christofias and Dervis Eroglu, have been urged to hurry up in settling the deadlock over their divided island.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon met with the two men in New York on Monday to discuss reaching an agreement on how to govern the island together, which has had a UN peacekeeping mission in place since 1964.
