The demonstration was part of a long running dispute organised by hardline Kosovo Albanians who are opposed to contacts with Serbia.
Members of the Self Determination party say Serbia wants to obstruct development in Kosovo which declared independence from its neighbour in 2008.
During Saturday’s protests police made more than 140 arrests after clashing with demonstrators who tried to stop the traffic from Serbia.
The European Union has condemned the continued attempts to blockade the borders calling them unjustified and against the basic freedom of movement of goods.
