Freedom for Italy militant jailed for police killing

A former leftist militant in Italy is free again after serving a jail term for ordering the murder of a top policeman in 1972.

Milan Commissioner Luigi Calabresi was shot dead outside his home. He was hated by the hard left after the death of an anarchist in custody.

Adriano Sofri was jailed for 22 years in 1990. He has spent recent years under house arrest.
