German tourists killed in Ethiopia 
Five dead, four missing in Ethiopia attack Gunmen have killed five foreign tourists and seriously injured two others in Ethiopia’s remote northern region, according to state television in Addis Ababa. The report said one tourist escaped unharmed.
A western diplomat said German nationals were among those killed.
The Afar region is known to be a haunt of Ethiopian rebels. Bandits and rebels from neighbouring Eritrea, Ethiopia’s enemy, are also active in the area.
