Haiti rebuilding falters

Two years ago an earthquake devastated Haiti and outside help poured in. First people had to be saved from the crushed buildings. Some owe their survival to rescuers from Spain. But the country has lost some of the early momentum to rebuild, TVE reported.

The world was shocked and moved by the drama, and donors lined up to help. But reconstruction has stalled. Swiss TSR television asked where the promised money has gone, especially Swiss donations.

After the Haiti earthquake, almost 1,000 children were adopted in France. Now, procedures are blocked. Most of the prospective new parents still have not been given full approval. France 2 television visited one of these families.
