Slovenia rejects election winner as PM

Slovenia’s parliament has rejected Zoran Jankovic as its new prime minister despite his party winning the most votes in last December’s election.

Jankovic needed the support of at least 46 out of 90 MPs but only gained 42.

The polarised parliament now has 14 days to nominate a new candidate.
