Kim Young-sik works as an engraver in the South Korean capital, Seoul. But in his spare time, the 61-year-old has carved out a successful career as a Kim Jong-il lookalike, even starring in television commercials and films.

The Dear Leader’s recent passing from a heart attack has left the South Korean Kim facing an uncertain future: impersonating dead dictators could be considered as something of a niche market. He said on learning of Kim Jong-il’s death that he felt “bitter sorrow”. At least he still has his day job to go back to.
