Qatar’s prime minister has admitted they made mistakes, but it seems the mission of Arab League monitors in Syria will continue.

News agencies quote Arab government sources who say there are no plans to withdraw the peace monitors despite mounting criticism.

The observers are in Syria to check whether the Damascus government is sticking to its promise to end its crackdown against pro-democracy protesters.

Activist groups claim the monitors do not have enough access to do their jobs and are being escorted by Syrian authorities.

The activists claim prisoners arrested during pro-democracy protests are being held in secret locations and the monitors are being manipulated by the authorities.
