Authorities in Chile have closed the Torres del Paine national park, one of its most popular tourist destinations, as a massive forest fire continues to rage across Patagonia.
Despite the efforts of fire-fighters, the blaze has consumed thousands of hectares, with strong winds fuelling the flames and heightening the problem.
Hundreds more government and military personnel from Chile and neighbouring Argentina have also been deployed to bring the blaze under control.
Officials say the fire was most likely started by negligent human action.
The area is a popular tourist destination due to its striking mountain peaks, and thousands of tourists visit the region at this time of year.
Due to the fires many disappointed hikers and campers were forced to evacuate.
