Moldovan rebel region in presidential run-off

The second round of presidential elections in Moldova’s breakaway Transdniestria region took place on Sunday.

Parliament member Yevgeny Shevchuck faced off against Russian-backed candidate Anatoly Kaminsky.

It is unclear who picked up supporters from current President Igor Smirnov who was voted out in the first round on December 11th.
