Frenzied scenes struck sports stores across the United States on Friday as the new Nike Air Jordan basketball trainers went on sale.
Customers battled to grab a pair of the re-released black-and-white Air Jordan 11 Retro Concords — the most popular Air Jordan shoes ever made.
The sneakers, named after former basketball star Michael Jordan, come with a $180 (€138) price tag.
There was disorder from coast to coast. Police even used pepper spray in one shop in the northwestern city of Seattle.
