Champions League: last 16 learn their fate


The draw has taken place for the knockout phase of the Champions League – as the last 16 clubs find out who they will play in the first leg.

Title holders Barcelona have drawn Bayern Leverkusen of Germany.

Italy’s Napoli and AC Milan take on English clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal respectively.

Spain’s Real Madrid will play CSKA Moscow while Bayern Munich have a much shorter trip to Basel in Switzerland for their first leg.

French side Lyon host Apoel Nicosia, while Marseille go head-to-head with Inter Milan.

Portugal’s Benfica continue their Champions League adventure away to Zenith St Petersburg.

First leg matches will be played on February 14/15 and 21/22. The second leg games are to be held on March 6/7 and 13/14.
